Evelyn and Kenneth in Ouray, CO

Kenneth and Evelyn are from the KC area and recently moved to Ouray, CO for his job. It was so great to meet them, because we not only had several common interests (like our mutual love for the Royals!!!) but also because they had lived in the area for a year and acted like “hosts” to us–telling us of the best hikes, places to eat downtown, where nearby parks were for our antsy kids, and much more. They even let us borrow their bikes one day for a bike ride…they are just truly great people! What was super fun for us is that Evelyn had told us about what she had heard was a beautiful place nearby (Yankee Boy Basin), but that they had not been there because it takes a 4×4 vehicle to get there. So, we decided to make the trek up the mountain in our suburban and share with them the beauty of this mountaintop! It was SO refreshing and rejuvenating shooting in a new area that brought with it such unique and breathtaking beauty.
