Bill and KathleenPosted in FamilyThere’s just something about being in the middle of nowhere that is so relaxing So healing, refreshing, & rejuvenating Being unplugged completely With no cell service, no tv, no “extra” noises — We woke to the sound of birds chirping and doves cooing Drank coffee slowly and lots of it Searched for the elusive groups of turkeys that were gobbling loudly in the woods Evaluated tracks left in the mud and feathers abandoned —– And besides the sounds of animals and our feet hitting fallen leaves as we walked, It was silent…such a beautiful silence. It’s my husband’s parent’s retreat–their home away from home, Their “happy place” — And I’m becoming more and more aware of the power in photos, In the stories being documented, being preserved So I wanted to show what a day at the cabin is like But really, to show what my children’s grandparents are like — In a place that they’re happy, In a place they get to reconnect because they get to disconnect from the rest And I look forward to our kids and their cousins getting to look back at these photos, Photos that are still wonderful to have now, but will hold even more value down the road — To them as a gift, for their future generations… 0 comments Add a comment...
